Your instructions for Page 1: 1. Underline words you need defined. Take a moment to look them up if you need. 2. In the space underneath the poem, type your answer to this question: What is the theme or life lesson from this poem? 3. There are at least five images that show this theme in the poem. Bold/color code/something at least 3 of them.

2. Poem analysis continued… Look on page 148. What are Johnny’s last words before he dies? Think. What does Johnny mean by those words? What does he want Ponyboy to do? So, Robert Frost says that nothing can stay gold, but Johnny tells Ponyboy to stay gold. Does Johnny agree with the theme of the poem?
