8. 1990’s: Adult Literacy Media Alliance (ALMA) wanted to help adults with below average level skills in reading and math ALMA decided to use broadcast television to deliver educational media 1998: ALMA created TV411 and it was broadcasted on public television  Emmy Award-winning program still plays on many TV stations  Original TV411learning materials still used by thousands of adult education programs nationwide
