13 Consumers, Health And Food Executive Agency Call 2015: Projects All projects should: provide high added value at EU level; involve at least three partners (separate legal entities) from different countries; be innovative, and normally last no longer than three years. Co-funding: 60% - up to 80% - exceptional utility 13

14 Consumers, Health And Food Executive Agency Exceptional utility Co-funding may be up to 80% 3 criteria: At least 60 % of the total budget of the action is used to fund staff At least 30% of the budget of the proposed action is allocated to Member States whose gross national income (GNI) per inhabitant is less than 90 % of the Union average. The proposal demonstrates excellence in furthering public health in Europe and has a very high EU added value. It is your responsibility to ensure that the proposal complies with criteria 1 & 2 14

16 Consumers, Health And Food Executive Agency 16 Call 2015: PROJECTS TITLE Gathering knowledge and exchanging best practices on measures reducing availability of alcoholic beverages ACTIVITIES The activities will aim at testing methods/tools and at identifying good practices on reducing heavy episodic drinking amongst young people in different settings and different MS through measures reducing availability of alcoholic drinks. Amount: € 1 700 000 (single PJ)

17 Consumers, Health And Food Executive Agency 17 Call 2015: PROJECTS TITLE Early diagnosis and treatment of viral hepatitis ACTIVITIES The project will support the development of national hepatitis strategies, screening and treatment guidelines, taking into account available treatment options. AMOUNT: € 1 600 000 (single PJ)

18 Consumers, Health And Food Executive Agency 18 Call 2015: PROJECTS TITLE Early diagnosis of tuberculosis ACTIVITIES The activities will aim at improving early diagnosis, strengthening integration of care, and outreach strategies in the community and in prison settings, and will draw on evidence and best practice from low- and high-incidence countries. AMOUNT: € 1 900 000 (single PJ)

19 Consumers, Health And Food Executive Agency 19 Call 2015: PROJECTS TITLE Support for the implementation and scaling up of good practices in the areas of integrated care, frailty prevention, adherence to medical plans and age-friendly communities ACTIVITIES The project will be built upon previous work conducted in these areas, the activities to be addressed will include: (i) identification of benchmarks focusing on successful local interventions with high transferability potential and (ii) support to the twinning, coaching, and/or scaling up of identified good practices on integrating health and social care in age-friendly community Settings. AMOUNT: € 2 500 000 (single PJ)

20 Consumers, Health And Food Executive Agency 20 Call 2015: PROJECTS TITLE Common assessment methodology on quality, safety and efficacy of transplantation therapies. ACTIVITIES The project will develop a framework for assessing and verifying the quality, safety and efficacy of therapies with human tissues and cells. They should include criteria, parameters and methodologies for evaluation. AMOUNT: € 1 300 000 (single PJ)

25 Consumers, Health And Food Executive Agency JOINT ACTIONS TITLE Health Technology Assessment cooperation ACTIONS Will be built on results achieved so far by the previous Joint Action (EUnetHTA 2012-2015) and the HTA Network strategy of October 2014, this action will be taken forward by national bodies mandated in this field to define a sustainable working model for all Member States willing to cooperate on HTA. More specifically this JA will strengthen the production of scientific joint work resulting in reports, guidelines and joint scientific initiatives. AMOUNT: € 12 000 000 25

26 Consumers, Health And Food Executive Agency JOINT ACTIONS TITLE Prevention of frailty ACTIVITIES Will foster a holistic approach to long-term conditions of the elderly that addresses frailty and its relationship with chronic disease; will generate knowledge about the risk factors as well as better definitions of risk groups and evidence-based interventions that can be offered earlier and tailored to individual’s needs. AMOUNT: € 3 500 000 26

27 Consumers, Health And Food Executive Agency JOINT ACTIONS TITLE Market surveillance of medical devices ACTIVITIES Will promote cooperation between MS allowing development of best practice, training and knowledge and resource sharing concerning the implementation of the medical device legislation, in particular in relation to Member States tasks such as the market surveillance of devices. AMOUNT: € 850 000 27

28 Consumers, Health And Food Executive Agency JOINT ACTIONS TITLE Rare cancers ACTIVITIES Will produce recommendations on policy developments in order to: recommend an operational definition on rare cancers analysing the impact of this in aspects related to registers and orphan medicinal products policy; spread knowledge and good practice guidelines on rare cancers with a view to ensure timely and appropriate diagnoses and care; address obstacles to patients’ access to appropriate therapies; develop an European reference network concept for the treatment of patients with rare cancers across the EU. AMOUNT: € 1 500 000 28

Co-finance core operating costs for non-governmental bodies Cover a period that is equivalent to its one accounting year. 60 percent of expenditures can be covered (in cases of exceptional utility, the EU contribution can be 80%). Total budget: 4 650 000 EUR 29

30 Consumers, Health And Food Executive Agency Who can apply for operating grant? Open for applications by single bodies (not consortia) - legally established in a country participating in the 3HP; Type of organization - non-governmental bodies or networks hosted by a non-governmental, non-profit body. Important – applicants have to be: Non-governmental, non-profit-making and independent of industry, commercial and business or other conflicting interests; Working in the public health area, play an effective role in civil dialogue processes at Union level and pursue at least one of the specific objectives of the Programme; Active at Union level and in at least half of the Member States, and have a balanced geographical coverage of the Union. 30
