Bones Our outside bones have a hard layer of dense bone, compact. Our bones are very strong because they have a solid heavy outside and a light honey comb middle. This makes them light. The smallest bone in the human body is the stirrup bone in the ear. The strongest bone in the body is the Femur.

Leg The shin bone is a long and strong bone that keeps the knee and foot to together. The longest bone in the body is the Femur. The Femur is connected to the hip. The knee cap is called the Patella. The two bones at the bottom of the leg are called the Fibula and the Tibia.

Arm The humerus keeps the shoulder and lower arm together. The funny bone is not a bone but in fact a nerve. The two lower arm bones are called the Radius and Ulna. The upper arm bone is called the Humerous.

Back Your spine is made of 26 or 33 small bones called vertebrae. The spine help people walk because it keep people upright. The spine has a cord running through the middle called the spinal cord. This sends messages to all parts of the body. The skull is joined to the top of the spine.

skull The skull forms a face and protects the brain. The skull only has one moving part. The jaw is called the mandible. The skull is like a helmet that protects the brain. The skull has two eye sockets that protect the eyes.

Interesting facts All of the bones in your body are linked together by joints and tendons. There are 206 bones in the body. Bones are 6 times stronger than steel. People need to exercise, drink plenty of water and eat healthily to keep the bones strong.

Joints The hip joint is like a shoulder joint. It is called a ball joint. There are joints in between the bones of our fingers. Without joints you would not be able to move your arms, legs and neck. Two types of joints are the hinge and the ball and socket joint. Dislocated joints can be popped back in by a doctor. joints can medically replaced with stainless steel or toughened plastic. A majority of people will get arthritis which will cause there joints to swell and give them a lot of pain.
