3 Removable User Identity Module Removable User Identity Module (R-UIM) –Equivalent to the 3GPP SIM card for cdma2000 devices –Like the SIM, the R-UIM is a physical card –Subscription and operational data are stored on the card including NAM parameters Roaming list Security parameters –Other items such as a user phonebook may also be stored A multimode R-UIM may include GSM parameters –Allows a single physical card in a multimode device Don’t need to have multiple slots for multiple cards –Multimode System Selection (MMSS) parameters are not supported on the R-UIM June 14, 2012 cdma2000 Technology Workshop 广州 Slide 3 R-UIM

4 Universal Integrated Circuit Card and Card Applications Universal Integrated Circuit Card (UICC) –The 3GPP2 UICC is an extension of the 3GPP UICC –The UICC is a multi-application security platform –CSIM, USIM, ISIM can all exist on a single UICC –Multimode System Selection Parameters are supported cdma2000 Application on UICC (CSIM) –The cdma2000 equivalent of the 3GPP USIM –Provides a superset of the R-UIM features on the UICC IP Multimedia Services Identity Module (ISIM) –An extension of the 3GPP ISIM to cdma2000 systems June 14, 2012 cdma2000 Technology Workshop 广州 Slide 4 UICC CSIM ISIM

10 Numbering June 14, 2012 cdma2000 Technology Workshop 广州 Slide 10 MIN block identifiers are administered by IFAST and North American Numbering Plan Area MIN Block Identifier (MBI) Administrator ESN and UIMID resources have effectively been exhausted TIA is the Global Hexadecimal Administrator (GHA) Assigns MEID and SF_EUIMID Following SC.R4002-0 v8.0 GHA (Global Hexadecimal Administrator) Assignment Guidelines and Procedures for Mobile Equipment Identifier (MEID) and Short Form Expanded UIM Identifier (SF_EUIMID) Terminals complying to both 3GPP2 and 3GPP air interface technologies may use a single identifier separate MEID and IMEI assignments are not typically needed. The identifier needs to be in decimal form It can be requested from the GHA or the GDA (Global Decimal Administrator) The GHA is presently assigning the RR 99 range
