4. Links Links should be: Obvious (especially with images) Visible Concise (where text is used)  Check navigation for ‘dead’ links  Limit the number of links  Avoid using complex URLs as text links  Avoid using too many links in one area

5.  Pages should have a consistent aesthetic  Be clear and decisive: Decide on the appearance Make clear decisions Indecisiveness may confuse the viewer  Be consistent with: Color Design Typography Example Graphics, Audio and Video

6.  Logo present on every page Clicking the logo should lead to the home page Logo should look professional  Use animations when necessary When its too much, people cant focus on the important content Graphics should not distract the viewers  Avoid: Flashing graphics Clip art Large file sizes Excessive color schemes Example Graphics, Audio and Video

7.  Navigation should be: Predictable Easily understood Direct – users should not have to click more than 4 times to find the information they need Tailored to the users needs  Where there is a drop down menu bar: Use logical categories and subcategories Example Navigation

8.  Content should be: As efficient as possible Organised to meet the viewers needs Appropriate to the audience Engaging Relevant Accurate Broken down into logical categories Prioritised with most popular/relevant seen first Example Content
