2 History of PRINCE2 A generic project management framework suitable for managing ANY type of project in any industry Owned by Office of Government Commerce (OGC) PRINCE established in 1989 for IT projects PRINCE redeveloped as PRINCE2 in 1996 for entire projects PRINCE2 4 th edition in year 2008 PRINCE2 5 th edition will be released in H2 2012 Now de facto standard for UK government
