4 Why did we do it Area ranked 21 in the WAG list of deprivation (WIMD 2008) 45% of population is from a non white group, 41% social housing. (2001 census) High unemployment levels 12.1 % Perceived barriers – age, language, cultural

18 “In my experience the pupils have developed so much with their literacy standards. For EAL children (English as an additional language ) it has improved their skills no end – in particular, what it has helped them with is having a structure and a framework in their mind – This project has really benefited the community and brought people together.” (Deputy Head)
