Prime Factorization Prime Number - Has exactly 2 factors, 1 and the number itself Composite Number - Any whole number greater than 1 with more than 2 factors 0 and 1 are neither prime nor composite Prime Factorization - Every composite number can be expressed as a product of prime numbers - FACTOR TREE

Divisibility Rules A number is divisible by:
if the ones digit is even 3 if the sum of the digits is divisible by 3 5 if the ones digit is 0 or 5 6 if the number is divisible by 2 and 3 9 if the sum of the digits is divisible by 9 10 if the ones digit is 0

Equivalent Fractions-Two or more fractions that have the same quotient or that name the same region, part of a set, or part of a segment. ( 1/3 = 3/9) Fraction-A number that represents part of a whole, part of a set, or a quotient in theform a/b which can be read as a divided by b Like(common) Denominators-A whole number, greater than zero, that is the denominator of two or more fractions. (2/7 and 3/7 have like denominators)

Lowest terms(simplest form)-The form of a fraction in which the numerator and denominator have no common factor except 1 Multiply(multiplication)-A mathematical operation of combining groups of equal amounts; repeated addition; the inverse of division. Unlike denominators-Two or more fractions with unequal denominators. (2/5 and 3/4 have unlike denominators)

2/5 + 1/2 7/8 – 3/4 3 3/ /3 6 2/3 – 4 1/4 2/7 * 5/6 6 * 1/8 2 1/3 * 1 2/5 5/8 * 6/10 (Cross Cancel) 2/3 / 5/6 7 1/3 / 6

Mixed Number-A number composed of an integer and a proper fraction
Multiplicative inverse-The reciprocal of a number; in the set of real numbers the number a given number needs to be multiplied by to yield or equal 1.(7*1/7=1) Repeating decimal-A decimal in which one or more digits repeat infinitely. Terminating Decimal-A decimal whose digits do not repeat; all terminating decimals are rational numbers.
