5. There are three offices in the Old Testament that meet three great needs of man. The office of the prophet meets man’s need for revelation. The office of the king meets man’s need for restoration. The office of the priest meets man’s need for reconciliation.

6. While there were prophets (messengers), kings (deliverers), and priests (mediators) in the Old Testament, only the promised Messiah – Jesus the Christ, can perfectly fulfill all three Old Testament offices.

7. If man is to know God accurately and intimately, he needs God to reveal Himself to man. If God has a message for man, He must have a messenger.
