It’s not the custom to wear heavy coats in Florida in fall. You’re not supposed to snap fingers at servers in restaurants Adults are not expected to wear a costume on Halloween.

3. Past Regret Subject + should + have + past participle + …. (past time context)  You should have studied harder for the last test.  I should have visited Spain when I had the chance.  My friend should have waited for me after school, but he wasn’t there.  We shouldn’t have eaten at the restaurant. It was terrible!  In these contexts:  Did the person study hard for the last test? no  Did I visit Spain? no  Did my friend wait for me after school? no  Did we eat at the restaurant? yes We use should have/shouldn’t have + base form to show regret about something that happened in the past.

Note: Your past participles should be different – do not use “done” in your sentences.
