3 Version 1.0, 30 June 2004 Red, Green, Blue: The three colours of light which can be mixed to produce any other colour. Coloured images are often stored as a sequence of RGB triplets or as separate red, green and blue overlays though this is not the only possible colour representation*. These colours correspond to the three "guns" in a colour cathode ray tube and to the colour receptors in the human eye. Definition of RGB Colours *Other commonly used colour representations are: The CMYK colour model (Cyan Magenta Yellow and Key (black)) The HSV colour model (Hue Saturation Value)

5 Version 1.0, 30 June 2004 RGB Colour Values RGB colors are defined using a decimal or hexadecimal notation for the combination of Red, Green, and Blue color values (RGB). The lowest value that can be given to one light source is 0 (hex #00). The highest value is 255 (hex #FF).
