2 officials were trained on HIV/AIDS counselling 25 officials were trained on IT computer troubleshooting, Workshops conducted on Deportation; 106 officers trained on PILIR, GEMS 80 Officers workshopped on WHO AM I ON LINE 11 Officers were given basic French Language training from the Refugee Reception Office, Inspectorate and Admissions in RO Port Elizabeth BAS Training conducted for Humansdorp, Engcobo, GReinette and Mt Frere IOs from KWT, Mt Frere &Mthatha attended International Migration Course at Wits University. Out of 135 vehicles in the Province, 13 have been identified for replacement due to high mileage. The 13 vehicles are already available at Head Office and will be delivered to the Province. 15 MOBILE UNITS DEPLOYMENT PLAN
This Province has been allocated ten (10) Mobile Trucks. These trucks have been deployed according to service delivery needs as there are areas without Home affairs presence and deployment therefore elevated the level of service delivery demands. 16 MOBILE UNITS During this month only 5 trucks are operational, we are expecting 6 new trucks from Head Office Three trucks have mechanical problems (UPS, CPU, Link star, Satellite dish & faulty GPF), 2 have been taken in for repairs, March 2007 Itinerary GGC 014 G – Queenstown: Sterkstroom, Tarkastad, Lady Frere, Molteno, Jamestown, Steynsburg, Sterkspruit, Barkly East, Rhodes GGB 016 G – Port Elizabeth: Sanddrift, Hankey, Eerste Rivier, Thornhill, Clarkson, Jeffrey’s Bay, St Francis Bay, Paterson, Stytlerville, Loerie, Coldstream, Weston, Storms River, Port Elizabeth area. GGB 325 G – King William’s Town: Stutterheim, Cathcart, Komga, Tsholomnqa, Ndevana, Kei Road, Ndakana, Frankfort, Thembeni GGC 082 G – From February 2007 the truck was stationed and operating at Bhizana District Office due to electrical problems in the office. 17 OFFICE CONDITION Alternative accommodation for Tsolo SP has been secured and Public Works will send specification needs to the landlord Mqanduli: DPW has given the landlord a go ahead and construction of a new office will start in the forthcoming financial year Ngqamakhwe: DHA has occupied the premises on 19 February 2007 Port St Johns: Renovations by the landlord will be finalized and the structure will be ready for occupation during April Flagstaff: alternative accommodation has been secured and will be ready for occupation by 1st April 2007 Eastern Cape North: Mthatha – will be occupied by 1st April 2007 Renovations in Mthatha Regional Office are nearing completion, the waiting area has been completed and has saved community exposure to unfavourable conditions Ndlambe Municipality has offered office accommodation at Port Alfred, the office is fully automated and utilised for mobile visits; Inxuba Yethemba Municipality has offered office space at Middleburg and automation of the office is in process. Gariep Municipality offered office space for Burgersdorp and office ready for occupation.
