5 Old Business Admin/Teacher’s Gifts Funds – M. MoldovskyAdmin/Teacher’s Gifts Funds – M. Moldovsky – Approximately 60% of the families participated (110 out of 167 families) We collected $6921 so far for the teacher appreciation fund. A total of $5705 was distributed to all staff members for Chanukah gifts.We collected $6921 so far for the teacher appreciation fund. A total of $5705 was distributed to all staff members for Chanukah gifts. –We will send out another email the 2nd week in March to give those who didnt give in Dec another opportunity to make a contribution. –Our goal is to raise another $3079 to meet the budget of $10,000 –We will continue to collect during the year –Tax deductible receipt/letter will be send to all of the families that participated. This is also to confirm that we received their donation and that it went directly to this fund. Melanie, do you need some help with this?Melanie, do you need some help with this? Neuhaus –Some Parents are not being responsive to the requests placed to them –We need to count on them to support the school and the teachers. –They need to check their messages (via email, phone) consistently –If they current parents are not the right ones, we need to get parents that will commit to a quick response to requests! – Response to request is a must on a timely matter! E.g Art request for the ladies nightE.g Art request for the ladies night –We need a 5 th Grade Classroom Parent Nursery Improvement ProjectNursery Improvement Project –The nursery has spent $1492.17 of the total $2900 allocated to the program for teacher directed activities –They may need help in deciding what they need. –Sheri Goldstein will contact the teachers and help them identify what other items are needed for the nursery area. Cyber Bullying Course – Monica MatlisCyber Bullying Course – Monica Matlis –Will be held the week of April 12 th, 2010 –Will introduce all middle schools students to what it is, how it is done and the consequences of this even for students. Health/Sex Education CourseHealth/Sex Education Course –Will be held for the 7 th & 8 th & grade students – separate for boys and girls –Will be taught by two pediatricias – Auren Weinberg & Laura Branchsbagle –The parents will be informed about the course ahead of time – opt out option will be available –Course will be offered in the spring –Contact Ellen Hartenstein for more questions

We are trying to get more parents involved in reading and participating in school events –Jessica sent out an email to the families. –First club meeting? Ladies NightLadies Night –Huge event this year. Jill Whelan will be the star of the show. –Evening of fun, 80s Trivia, Food, some vendors (by invitiation) –We are going to have an Art Silent Auction of art prepared by all of the grades in AHA (except 8 th ) –We need help in putting it together –Please volunteere! It will be fun! –Save the Date: April 28 th, 2010
