1. Working with Colored Pencils

2. Step 1: Begin with a light pencil sketch. Use the colored pencils to roughly lay in the main colors

3. Step 2: Begin to shade by layering colors. Some details can be added using a graphite pencil, as was done in the lacing of the baseball The addition of lights and darks while layering gives the objects form.

4. Step 3: Continue layering colors. A kneaded eraser can be used to lift and adjust colors. Add richness to the drawing by using effective color combinations.

5. Step 4: The last step usually doesn’t involve additional layering. Drawing details are added. Values are adjusted.
