10 This simplified ITIP model shows how the four parts of a lesson relate and interact with each other. It starts with Objectives and then moves to Set, through Active Participation to Closure. Each of the four components will be discussed, examples given and you will complete exercises to help you become comfortable using the components in developing your micro-teaching presentations. 12 Developing a Lesson Plan Once a topic has been selected, a task analysis should be done either formally or informally to create a complete lesson plan. A task analysis is the procedure used by the instructor to evaluate the topic in order to determine what needs to be taught, to identify the correct level of difficulty and to organize the material that is necessary to reach the objective appropriate for the topic lesson. 14 Planning a Lesson Lesson Assignment Create and write out a complete lesson plan that you would use to teach some aspect of your choosing of Law 13 to an experienced group of Grade 8 referees. Include all the items contained in the “Parts of a Lesson Outline”.
