Can you name the 6 performance enhancing drugs you need to know for PE? A.Anabolic steroids / beta blockers/ diuretics/ narcotic analgesics/ stimulants/ peptide hormones. Q. Explain why somebody might take ‘Anabolic steroids’ and what side effects it has on the body. A.To enhance their performance, increase muscle mass, develop bone growth, recover quicker B.Risk of heart attacks, high blood pressure, liver disease, risk of muscle injury, infertility in women Q. Explain why somebody might take ‘Beta Blockers’ and what side effects it has on the body. A.To maintain a low heart rate and blood pressure B.Nausea, diarrhoea, tiredness, depression, insomnia and nightmares
