Clearwire Acquisition Integration of valuable 2.5 GHz spectrum, with its additional capacity, into Sprint’s network plans. Allows Sprint to better manage capacity on the network, allowing shared traffic across our entire spectrum to deliver the best experience to customers. SoftBank Transaction Sprint remains an independent company, publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the stock symbol “S.” Sprint maintains an independent Board of Directors with members from SoftBank, including Masa Son. October 2013 – SoftBank agrees to pay $1.26 billion for a 57 percent stake to boost its bargaining power with handset makers. SoftBank said ownership of Brightstar would increase to 70 percent over the next five years, or upon certain unspecified events. January 2014 - Sprint Board of Directors appoints Marcelo Claure to the Board. –Claure is Founder, Chairman, President and CEO of Brightstar. –Brightstar has a local presence in over 50 countries, earning revenues in excess of $10 billion.
