14 Thursday, September 1  In Class Discussion of Rounds. 1-3  What, if anything, is the role of fate the TBJ? Is hope a lie?  Let’s pay some attention to Zophar from p. 65.  Upcoming Friday: Read the Summation, the Voice from the Whirlwind, and the Epilogue. You have a paper coming up on this topic, but I haven’t really decided what the final topic will be.

17 Monday, August 29  In Class The Book of Job Essential Questions: What is “perfect integrity?” (p. 5) Who is responsible for Job’s suffering? (p. 8) What can/should be said in the face of suffering? (p. 9)  Upcoming Tuesday: Read The Curse and Round 1

18 Friday, August 26  In Class Despite my best plans and intentions, your grammar and vocabulary materials are not ready today. Since this is a weekly thing, I’m just going to postpone beginning until next Friday. Woo-hoo! Fieldtrip to the Book Room to pick up either ghetto or new copies of The Book of Job. Then we’ll chat the book up until time to leave. What is “perfect integrity?”  Upcoming Monday—Read the Introduction and The Prologue: The Legend. TBJ is a pretty short read, and I have no trouble with people reading ahead. I’m a binge reader myself. Just stay caught up.

19 Thursday, August 25  In Class Complete Our Discussion of the Job Passage Are there Factual Questions that need to be cleared up? Essential Questions: What is the answer to the Unnamable’s question: “Am I wrong because you’re right?” Toward what logical alternatives does the Unnamable point? What should we conclude?  Upcoming Friday—We’re going to begin a Grammar and Vocab Unit tomorrow, but the books aren’t quite ready yet, so we’ll limp along as a whole group for a few days. Still nothing for you to prepare for this. We’ll also take a fieldtrip to the book room to pick up copies of The Book of Job.

20 Wednesday, August 24  In Class Review Rules of Shared Inquiry Discussion Are there Factual Questions that need to be cleared up?
