TIMS FOR GUEST TEACHERS Winter 2012

Logging in to TIMS Open the PDE website by typing the following URL into your browser: PA-TIMS.com Click Log In on the top left side of the PDE web page, located just below the PDE search box.

You will be directed to the Welcome Page for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s enterprise Portal as shown below. Please follow the directions for either Logging In (if you already have a Username and Password) or Registering for a Username and Password (if you do not have one already).

If you need to register, complete the requested information. Password should contain at least: One uppercase letter One lowercase letter One numeric number One non-character (such as !,#,%,@, etc). And must be between 8 to 32 characters in length. Click “Register”.

Registration is complete. Return to the TIMS page. PA-TIMS.com Click Log In on the top left side of the PDE web page, located just below the PDE search box.

You will be directed to the Welcome Page for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s enterprise Portal as shown below. Enter your Username and Password to Log In.

When you complete the information requested and click on “Continue”, you should get your PPID number. Be sure to record this number and keep it in a safe place.

When you are logged in as indicated on the top of the left menu column, click on the photo for teachers.

Click on the icon

Click on the tab labeled “Access TIMS”.

Below the Log In Status, click on the word, “here”.

Initiate Permit Request by clicking on the “Initiate Permit Request Application” button on the bottom right of the screen.

STEP 1 ~ DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION PA Secure ID: leave this field blank. Complete the other information requested, click “Save”. Click “Next” at the top of the screen to go to Education information. Save Next

STEP 2 ~ EDUCATION INFORMATION Click the “Add New” button to enter your Bachelor’s degree.

Search for Institution below the Institute Name field.

Click here to add Major Subject Area.

Search and select the major that most closely matches the program you completed.

Answer the questions at the bottom of the screen with Yes or No. Click save. Click “Next” at the top of the screen to go to Certification Information.

Step 3 ~ CERTIFICATION INFORMATION Do not make any changes to this screen. Click “Next” to go to Work Experience. Step 4 ~ WORK EXPERIENCE Do not make any changes to this screen. Click “Next” to go to Institution Affiliation.

Step 5 ~ INSTITUTION AFFILIATION Click “Add New” to add an affiliation.

Using LEA button, and “Click here to search”. Type “Lincoln” in the search box, and select Lincoln IU 12. Leave the Authorization End Date blank. Click “Save”, then click “Continue”.

Answer the background questions. Be sure to check the certification / affidavit box at the bottom of the screen. Click “Continue”.

Congratulations! Be sure to put a check in the box on the right to select LIU and click “Initiate Permit Request” (you may need to scroll to the right). This will then send an alert to LIU that you have completed your part of the online process.
