Does Your Life Please God Romans 12:1-21

Romans 12:1-2 Give yourself in Worship

Romans 12 challenges the Christian to delicate their lives to please God. I Samuel 2:30 But I will honor those who honor me, and I will despise those who think lightly of me.

Romans 12:1-2 Paul calls on Christians to transformed in their thinking and to strive to please God by living as a living sacrifice. This is to be the Highest form of worship one can have with God and will enable us to discern his will.

In the first part of Romans the reader saw displayed the helmet of salvation and the shield of faith. But in this last section, the feet are shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. We are to stand in the battle; we are to walk in our life; we are to run in the race. McGee, J. V.

Romans 12:1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice--the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

Paul urged all believers to present themselves to God. The custom of the day was to bring the first and best to God. He says to yield “your bodies,” your total personalities. The body is the instrument through which we express ourselves. The mind, the affections, the will, and the Holy Spirit can use the body. McGee, J. V.

Christians were to live as though we are dead. A dead man has no emotion, pride, agenda or feelings for self, therefore being totally sold out to God remembering that Jesus gave his all, that we might live in God through Christ Jesus.

1 Cor. 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Cor. 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Paul explains that giving ourselves to God is an act of spiritual worship. The word spiritual can be rendered as logical or reasonable. Carrying out one’s duty is pleasing to God.

Romans 12:2 Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Christians are to please God with our minds. The temptation is to go with the world and think like the world. The bible teaches we are to reject worldliness and to be transformed by renewing our minds.

Three Things: 1.Continued action, on going life long endeavor. 2. The source of our transformation is the indwelling Holy Spirit. 3. We must place ourselves at the Spirits disposal. God will not change a unwilling vessel. Three Things: 1.Continued action, on going life long endeavor. 2. The source of our transformation is the indwelling Holy Spirit. 3. 14 The result of having our mind renewed is the ability to discern what is good and pleasing to God. The result of having our mind renewed is the ability to discern what is good and pleasing to God.

Christian living is not being empty headed, but it is about being filled with the things of God daily and living a most abundant live. John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

Paul makes it clear that all have sinned yet his mercy endures to the end because salvation is by faith through our faith in Jesus Christ and his planned includes mercy for all.

Paul made it clear that Salvation is for all mankind. Joel 2:32 But everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.
