7 Christopher Columbus Christopher’s first voyage started August 12 ,1492 He first spotted land October 12 ,1492. Columbus had three other voyages in He spent many years trying to get someone to pay for his voyage. When he found land it was a small island the Bahamas. He had some problems being a local governor at one point he was arrested for behavior and mistreating other colonists Finally king Ferdinand and queen Isabella to pay for his trip. Columbus represented Spain. He found San Salvador, Cuba ,Puerto Rico, Jamaica ,West Indies , Trinidad , parts of South America.

All about CRISTOPHER COLUMBUS by Ethan Harper Christopher Columbus was born on Cristopher was an explorer and wanted to be the first person to explore Asia. He thought he could sale west to reach Asia. Some obstacles for Christopher were getting sea sick, navigating ships, making maps, and getting sea sick. He accomplished discovering America. In America he discovered San Salvador, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Trinidad, and West Indies. He took 6 trips from 1492 to He was put in jail and died on 1506.

They discovered a bay full of whales and walruses in Spitsbergen. Henry sailed south and found a river. He called the river The Hudson River. The first place that Henry went to was a island called Spitsbergen in His crew and him went on a ship called Hopewell. They kept going north until they ran into ice. Hudson tried to find a way through the ice but he finally decided to go back. How many trips ? Death Henry sailed to North America and Greenland. He sailed to Greenland in 1607. Henry Hudson died from starvation and cold weather.

12 The Search For The Northwest Passage
In 1535, Jacques Cartier and 112 more men left France and sailed up the St. Lawrence river to the Iroquoian capital of Stadacona. He reached the location of Modern-day Montreal on October 2, 1535, rapids prevented him from continuing. Cartier believed the rapids were the last obstacle in his discovery of the Northwest Passage. These days the town on the banks of the rapids is called Lachine, (Lachine is French for China). The ideal plan was to find Asia but instead Cartier found an area in Canada. So Jacques Cartier failed on his mission to Asia but found a new piece of land in Canada.

13 Jacques Cartier was born on December 31,1491 in the Saint-Malo,Brittany (it would later become part of France). His career of exploration began in 1524,when he accompanied the Italian-born French explorer Giovanni da Verrazano on his exploration of the Atlantic Coast of Canada and the United States. This experience would prove valuable to Cartier's explorations in the future Early Life

14 John Cabot By Harmony Dev John Cabot’s first trip was sponsored by seafaring operations. His second trip sponsored by the king of England. John Cabot went to Cape Breton island in Canada. The name is also known as newfoundland.

He had three trips. His first trip that was in 1496 which was unsuccessful. His was in 1497 and was successful. His third trip was in 1498 that was successful. He died in the fall of 1498 and died that same year very shortly after he came back.

19 The Europeans introduced Native Americans to guns, sugarcane and horses. The Europeans brought measles and smallpox , witch could kill them. They used gun to take whatever they wanted. They thought they had the right to do this.

When Europeans built villages and cities, they often cleared forests. These forests were the homes of many of the wild animals the Native Americans hunted. Most tribes that survived were forced to move west.
