9 What is Compass? Compass is a patient-advocacy firm that lowers benefit costs with tools and support for healthcare consumers. What is Compass’ Value? Compass lowers healthcare costs by up to 10% How does Compass Lower Costs? Compass lets employers take advantage of the lower prices within their existing network. In-Network prices vary by 300% locally – that means the same CT Scan costs $500 or $1500 depending on where you go. What makes Compass Unique? Compass has created a proprietary price-transparency software tool based on tens of millions of medical claims. Compass Health Pro patient-advocates then use that tool to give employees cost and quality comparisons for medical services. Compass Health Pros continue to support employees with appointment scheduling, bill review and other concierge services.

12 The ACEC Life/Health Trustees manage the member groups to a higher BCR rate than the normal UnitedHealthcare book of business. Therefore, ACEC Trustees (volunteer engineers) participate in the setting of the renewal rates. The Renewal Rates are calculated based on standard UnitedHealthcare underwriting practices based on the market segment. The Renewal rates for ACEC groups are calculated across the entire book of ACEC Life/Health Trust business. The renewal rates are then distributed to the individual group in accordance with the experience of the group and to remain consistent with how they fare outside of the Trust. ACEC Renewals From 2007-2013 the ACEC Life/Health Trust has had greater than 93% Retention
