2 Aim To determine the overall heat transfer coefficient & the individual film transfer coefficient and verify Dittus-Boelter equation

3 Apparatus Double pipe heat exchanger Stainless steel tank Circulation pump for hot & cold fluid

4 Procedure Switch on the heater of hot fluid tank Keep the flow rate of cold fluid constant Adjust the flow rate of hot fluid Once steady state is reached note down the inlet and outlet temperatures of hot and cold fluid. Repeat the experiment for at least six different flow rates of hot fluid.

5 Theory Overall resistance = sum of resistances in series Dittus-Boelter equation
