EE/CS 480 Fall 2008 3 University of Portland School of Engineering Introduction Goal: Create a digital thermostat to provide cold and refreshing food and beverages that will not exceeds one’s desired temperature Digital thermostat –Thermal couple sensor –7-segment display –User interface

EE/CS 480 Fall 2008 4 Introduction (Cont.) High Level Design MOSIS 10/28/2008 University of Portland School of Engineering

EE/CS 480 Fall 2008 5 University of Portland School of Engineering Scorecard October’s accomplishments: –Obtained refrigerator –MOSIS Completed an averager, binary-to decimal-decoder Last time we completed: comparator, up/down counter & seven segment displays October’s shortcomings: –Found error in the design of the counter—needs debugging.

EE/CS 480 Fall 2008 6 University of Portland School of Engineering Additional Accomplishments As a team, we found a good routine that suits us. –Knowing our roles, and being active in it. –Consistent on meeting times –Helping each other when needed.

EE/CS 480 Fall 2008 7 University of Portland School of Engineering November Plans Finish MOSIS design (by Nov. 26) Start Theory of Operations Order all parts: –A to D converter –Buffer –Amplifier –Display –User-interface
