15. Challenges to students in EMI school:
to understand teachers’ instructions
to learn a lot of vocabulary
to understand textbook contents
What parents can help:
There will be more vocabulary development exercises and dictation. Check your son’s performance.
When your son is studying, ask if he has any difficulty in understanding the textbook contents. Provide help if necessary.

more subjects and lessons
some academic subjects only have 2 to 3 lessons per week
What students can do:
bring a notebook and take note during lesson time
bring highlighter and highlight important textbook contents during lesson time
> these help students to find out important subject contents when they study at home

students will be given 2 to 5 days to complete homework
no fixed day for dictation or/and test, but depending on teaching progress
What students can do:
make good use of the student handbook to record homework, dictation and text date(s)
What parents can help:
check your son’s student handbook at least once a week
based on the record, discussion with your son how to manage his time to do homework, and to prepare for dictation and test
