Eph 4:11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ 11 A Great Days of Prayer Experience

Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord 12 A Great Days of Prayer Experience

John 15:16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 13 A Great Days of Prayer Experience

1. Separation – you can’t serve two masters 2. A Servant’s Attitude – the mind of Christ in you 3. Partnership – we are laborers together with God 4. Discipline – consistency through endurance 5. Vision – visualizing what God wants to accomplish through you 14 A Great Days of Prayer Experience

Leader: To demonstrate our sole commitment and loyalty to you, Lord, we declare you as Lord. We renounce the world. We throw off the attachments that lure us away from singular devotion to you. People: We surrender the reigns of our heart to you. Prayer: The great competitor to your Lordship in our lives so often is self. Forgive us for our duplicity, for trying to serve two masters. For ambivalence. For resisting your leadership. 15 A Great Days of Prayer Experience

Leader: To demonstrate our willingness to move beyond words, we take up the towel and offer ourselves as your servants. We are ready to obey you, to respond to your commands. People: We surrender the reigns of our lives to you. Prayer: We are so accustomed to living our lives for ourselves and even assuming that you are to serve us, to enrich and make our lives better, richer, fuller. Forgive us for blind selfishness that fails to lay down our lives and really follow you. 16 A Great Days of Prayer Experience

Leader: To demonstrate Christ, not in word but in deeds, we ask that you show us our role, our task, our calling. Invite us into your work. We so often ask you to “help us” without realizing that you already have a job. May we drop everything and rush to be a partner with you. People: We surrender the direction of our lives to you. Prayer: God we are so preoccupied with life. Committed to our daily grind, we may be missing the most exciting opportunity available to a mortal – the opportunity to work with you. God may nothing in this world be more important than the work you could call us into – laborers together with you. 17 A Great Days of Prayer Experience

Leader: To demonstrate the depth of our faithfulness, we pray for grace to be consistent, to live out the disciplines of the faith. People: We surrender the daily rhythms of our lives to your authority. Prayer: Lord, we sometimes follow you at a safe distance. Help us to draw close. To embrace the full effect of your daily disciplines. To move beyond being an admirer to a full-fledged imitator of Jesus. May this not be a sprint, a fad in our life, but life-long marathon of living life under your guidance. 18 A Great Days of Prayer Experience

Leader: To demonstrate our connection with you, open our eyes to possibilities only seen by divine inspiration. Envision us. Call us our of narrow and small minded thinking. People: We surrender our futures to your possibilities. Prayer: Lord, we often live such small lives, trapped by circumstances, living with limited options. Break us out of such self-imposed oppression. Show us what can be, what should be. Open our eyes to possibilities right at our feet. You want to use us in ways we never thought possible. 19 A Great Days of Prayer Experience
