What is World Math Day? World Math Day is an online math competition that connects kids from around the world. World Math Day is an online math competition that connects kids from around the world. It allows students to practice their mental math in a fun gaming format and some healthy competition. Math Day in Motion Hangzhou International School has participated in World Math Day for the past 2 years, therefore it is an established online project that works well. Next year, the technology teaching position is vacated and this becomes an online program that I can promote to my Kindergarten class, along with the rest of the lower school teachers. Why World math day? Having been involved as a school in World Math Day I have seen the benefits of participating and continuing to participate. It brings the school together for a unified cause (math!) and promotes healthy competition among the grades, countries, and individuals. To Sum it up This is a really fun program that I would recommend to other schools who have not participated and would like to carry on in my own. Students are digital natives, therefore love playing computer games and it is an educational way for them to do so! Additionally, it goes on for about a month (practice and competition), therefore it is not too lengthy and it gives the kids something to look forward to for next year!
