CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION DEBRIS MANAGEMENT San Diego landfill is on DoN Property –Free tipping until landfill closes, projected 2012 –$6M increase in landfill disposal costs for metro area when landfill closes at current C&D diversion rate C&D by far the largest waste stream generated in metro area Must aggressively divert to preserve landfill space –77% of C&D tonnage is diverted through the ISWMP –Requires SOURCE SEPARATION at point of generation CNRSWINST 11350 –Requires all C&D projects to submit solid waste assessment management plan or waste assessment form ISWMP C&D Diversion Manager works closely with construction personnel to present diversion opportunities/alternatives ISWMP Office administers landfill coupon program
