1 Do You Know The Good News?
Many Christians today are rabbit hole believers. They pop out of their safe home and hurry to work, hold their breath hoping no one confronts them exposing their shallow Christian faith, they hurry off to bible study, back home relieved that any unbelievers missed them all day.

2 Good News to tell Romans 1:1-7 Biblical Truth: Christians have reason and opportunity to tell others about the Gospel

3 Background passage: Why we tell (Rom 1:1-7) Called of God to preach the gospel to all nations. Whom we tell (Rom1:8-15) Paul felt compelled to preach to all of the gentile people. What we tell (Rom 1:16-17 Paul felt that the gospel is for everyone Jews and gentiles alike.

4 1This letter is from Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, chosen by God to be an apostle and sent out to preach his Good News. 2God promised this Good News long ago through his prophets in the holy Scriptures. 3The Good News is about his Son. In his earthly life he was born into King David’s family line, 4and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord.

5 5Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name. 6And you are included among those Gentiles who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ.  7I am writing to all of you in Rome who are loved by God and are called to be his own holy people. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.

6 1This letter is from Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, chosen by God to be an apostle and sent out to preach his Good News.

7 V.1 Paul had never met the believers in Rome , yet he truly would love to see them in person. Paul introduces himself as a slave to Jesus Christ

8 Paul claimed to have been singled out for a specific service
Paul claimed to have been singled out for a specific service. Is God calling you out to a specific service?

9 2God promised this Good News long ago through his prophets in the holy Scriptures.
This good news was that all mankind can be saved from sin and the judgment. This is from the God of Abraham, Moses and David

10 3The Good News is about his Son
3The Good News is about his Son. In his earthly life he was born into King David’s family line. God promised The Messiah through the preaching from the old testament prophets. Isa. 9:6-7

11 Isa 9:6-7 6For a child is born to us, a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!

12 Zech 9:9 Rejoice, O people of Zion
Zech 9:9 Rejoice, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet he is humble, riding on a donkey--riding on a donkey's colt. Mal 3:1"Look! I am sending my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. Then the Lord you are seeking will suddenly come to his Temple. The messenger of the covenant, whom you look for so eagerly, is surely coming," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies.

13 demonstrated and confirmed the Deity of Jesus Christ
4and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord.  The resurrection from the dead demonstrated and confirmed the Deity of Jesus Christ

14 5Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name. 6And you are included among those Gentiles who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ.

15 Paul’s life was transformed to the point of full surrender
Paul’s life was transformed to the point of full surrender. God has provided a way that the whole world can be saved. The word nations in verse five can be rendered Gentiles as Paul claims to be the preacher of. Paul confirms that he knew the believers in Rome and that he was also one who belonged to Jesus Christ.

16 7I am writing to all of you in Rome who are loved by God and are called to be his own holy people. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. Paul identifies the readers as those that had received God’s love through Christ which are called the Saints of God. This peace that God gives freely is why we tell others about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

17 Why is this good news worth telling? It declares man kind not guilty.
It makes man worthy to enter into Heaven. It put man back into a relationship with God. It brings peace to a lost and dying world.
