3 Introduction Various lists of the Wonders of the World have been compiled from antiquity to the present day, to catalogue the world's most spectacular natural wonders and manmade structures. Every four years the wonders are changed by a process of voting.

5 The Pyramid at Chichén Itzá(Mexico)
Built around 800 A.D. ( between A.D. ) El Castillo's design is thought to relate to the Mayan calendar. Each of the four faces incorporates a broad, steep staircase consisting of 91 steps that ascends to the top platform. Counting the top platform as an additional step gives a total of 365 steps: 1step for each day of the year. Kukulcán's pyramid is notable for the fact that at the spring and fall equinoxes.

6 Continued… These triangles of light link up with the massive stone carvings of snake heads at the base of the stairs, suggesting a massive serpent snaking down the structure. Also when one looks at the western face during the winter solstice, the sun appears to climb up the edge of the staircase until it rests momentarily directly above the temple before beginning its descent down the other side.

7 Christ Redeemer (1931) Is a statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The statue stands 38 m (105 feet) tall, weighs 700 tons and is located at the Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park As well as being a potent symbol of the Roman Catholic Church, the statue has become an icon of Rio and Brazil.

Seats 50,000 spectators and represents one of the ancient Rome’s greatest architectural achievements It was used for staged battles, sometimes between lions and Christians and other heretics, among other spectacles, and is one of the most famous pieces of architecture in the world

9 The Great Wall of China It started as earth works thrown up for protection by different States. It was during the Ming dynasty ( ) that the Wall took on its present form. . The Great Wall is the world’s longest human-made structure, stretching over approximately 6,400 km from Shanhai Pass in the east to Lop Nur in the west. It is also the largest human-made structure ever built in terms of surface area and mass.

10 Machu Picchu The city was built between 1460 and 1470 AD.

The Taj Mahal is one of the most beautiful masterpieces of architecture in the world a style that combines elements of Persian, Turkish, Indian, and Islamic architectural styles Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal Also called the symbol of love.

13 Conclusion After studying all the details of the wonders I truly believe that each and every single one of them is a master piece of architecture. And the world is truly an amazing place.
