Dee Grayson shares her insights. Dr. Delores Grayson, author of “Generating Expectations for Student Achievement (GESA) An Equitable Approach to Educational Excellence” was a recent guest speaker at APW.

Dr. Grayson met with Clinically Rich Students from SUNY Oswego and APW staff members to speak about how a teacher’s perceptions and expectations can influence student behavior and impact student development.

The discussion included influences that can impact classroom dynamics. Gender Race Ethnicity Socio-economic status Language Developmental challenges

Learn Strategies and Tools Simple changes can impact a child’s ability to interact with and relate with their teacher. These changes can promote high expectations and increase student’s instructional engagement, self-esteem and classroom performance.

Master teachers and Clinically Rich Students participated in an afternoon discussion on GESA. Many of the teachers completed the GESA Course in their past.
