7 The God To Whom We Pray  Steadfast Lover  the corresponding term (xeseD) is one of the more difficult single Hebrew words to translate. It carries the idea of sustained loyalty and love at the same time. Some suggested translations are “constant love” ( TEV ), “faithful love” ( NJB ), “unchanging love,” or “trustworthy love.” This term is used twenty-six times in Psalm 136. 11 Confession Of Sin For The People Of Israel  I John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

12 Confession Of Sin For The People Of Israel  Both Daniel and Nehemiah understood the importance of taking responsibility for the sins of their people  Neh. 1:6 confessing the sins of the people of Israel, which we have sinned against you. Even I and my father's house have sinned.  Daniel 9:5 …we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules.

14 Israel’s Suffering Due To Sin  Both Daniel and Nehemiah the captivity.  Daniel was an old man at the time of ch. 9  He was captured as a young man and had lived under 3 or 4 different rulers.  Now he realized they were near the end of the prophesied 70 years

15 Israel’s Suffering Due To Sin  Nehemiah had risen to a position of huge responsibility.  He saw God’s time was near.  He risked his own life to accomplish the will of God.  Both had suffered with Israel for the disobedience of the people of God  70 years of captivity

16 The Request  Daniel  Vs 16 let your anger and your wrath turn away from your city Jerusalem  Vs 17 make your face to shine upon your sanctuary  Vs 19 attention and act

17 The Request  Nehemiah  Vs 11 O Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants who delight to fear your name, and give success to your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.”

18 God’s Answer  Daniel  Gabriel reveals the end of time  Daniel’s 70 weeks  Vs 25 Know therefore and understand that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks.

19 70 Weeks  Know therefore and understand that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks.  Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again  And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing.

20 70 Weeks  That equals 69 weeks  Some scholars believe that to the very day Christ entered Jerusalem on “Palm Sunday”

21 70 Weeks  The final week is believed to be the Tribulation period.  7 years of terrible trouble for the entire world.  I believe the Church will have been raptured.  You study it for yourself.

22 God’s Answer  Nehemiah  Permission to return to Jerusalem to rebuild the walls and establish the gates and restore the place where God met with man, the Temple  Once more the people of God could meet with Him
