2. Pastor: May God be gracious to us and bless us. People: And make his face shine upon us. (Silence for self-examination)

3. Pastor: God of mercy and grace, People: we confess to You that we are by nature sinners who deserve Your wrath, that daily we sin much and fail to do good. Forgive us our sins through the mercy and merits of Jesus Christ alone. Give us Your Holy Spirit that we may amend our sinful lives and learn the delight of Your will.

4. Be gracious to us and teach us the way of holiness, righteousness, and faithfulness that we may not depart from it. (Silence for reflection) Pastor: God, our Savior, has had mercy on you and forgiven you all your sins through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
