2 Cross Product Shortcut!!! Instead of memorizing the formula for the cross product try using the following shortcut. 1.) Eliminate (ignore) the component column that you are trying to calculate. 2.) Calculate: Down Product - Up Product. =x1y1z1x1x2y2z2x2=x1y1z1x1x2y2z2x2 =(y 1 z 2 - y 2 z 1, z 1 x 2 - z 2 x 1, x 1 y 2 - x 2 y 1 )
