Anxiety (Vocab) O The condition of feeling uneasy or worried about what may happen.
Depression (Vocab) O A prolonged feeling of helplessness, hopelessness, and sadness. O Almost 15% of all teens will display some signs of depression. O One of the most common mental health concerns among teens.
Types of Depression O Major Depression- Intense and lasts weeks or months. O Mild Depression- Less severe symptoms but can last years. O Adjustment Disorder- A reaction to a specific life event.
Warning Signs of Depression O Persistent sad or irritable mood. O Loss of interest in things enjoyed. O Loss of appetite O Difficulty sleeping O Loss of energy O Feeling Worthless O Recurrent thoughts of death/suicide
Causes of Depression O Medical condition or illness. O Psychological reasons. O Social or environmental factors.
Apathy (Vocab) O Lack of strong feeling, interest, or concern.
