5 ACTIVITIES-G- CREATIVITY means :- “ To find new and different ways of solving problems ” Creativity can enhance performance. It is using skills in a unique way. In dance and gymnastics sequences are creative In football and rugby imagination and flair are used to ensure space is used effectively. This can create attacking advantages

6 ACTIVITIES-C- PRINCIPLES OF PLAY Applying the principles of play in team games allows you to create attacking opportunities, and consider how to control space when in defence. Team games involve WIDTH and DEPTH in ATTACK and DELAY in DEFENCE. Evaluating your team ROLES and RESPONSIBLITIES and individual STRENGTHS and WEAKNESSES are important in selecting TACTICTS and planning EFFECTIVE performance

7 ACTIVITIES-C- WIDTH - allows player (s) to cover entire width of playing area creates space attacking opportunities creativity DEPTH – allows player (s) to cover entire length of playing area allows many passing options in team games.

8 ACTIVITIES-C- DELAY – this means to hold up play and usually refers to defence. In football DELAY in defence can mean to hold up the ball to allow attackers to get forward. In badminton DELAY can mean playing a defensive clear to allow you time to get back into position

9 ACTIVITIES-C- TEMPO – The speed of the game. It is a situation where the speed of the game changes very quickly In football this could be Counter Attack. In basketball this could be a Fast Break SUPPORT PLAY – This is where players help and support each other to allow creative options. In football this would be midfield players who support the strikers and track back to support defence. In volleyball the centre player supports the attackers when spiking.

11 ACTIVITIES-C- TACTICS – a tactic is a way of carrying out a strategy and applying the principles of play common in games. Tactics will often depend on:- Score Time left Team strengths Opposition strengths Tactics should exploit opponents weakness. Tactics can be ADAPTED within a strategy when necessary

12 ACTIVITIES-C- When applying Tactics you should design them to consider:- Your strengths Consider opponents strengths and weaknesses Players tend to be either Attacking or Defensive.

13 ACTIVITIES-C- Your aim is to get your opponent to hit shuttle high. A low serve to the front of the court is used. x1 1
