12.  4- Exceeds the standard In order to score a 4 a student must demonstrate extended or strategic thinking beyond what was taught in class (not just everything right based on what was taught) – example will be shown on next page 3- Meets the standard A student scores a 3 when they demonstrate proficient understanding of the material taught in class (used to be 100%) 2- Nearly meets the standard A student scores a 2 when they have not demonstrated proficient understanding independently on an assessment of material taught in class. They may be demonstrating partial understanding. Student may meet with teacher during target time for re-teaching. Later on the student will be given another opportunity to demonstrate proficient understanding. 1- Does not meet the standard A student will need re-teaching and additional practice to determine what their needs are. After much more practice and correction of misconceptions the student will be given another opportunity to demonstrate proficient understanding independently.
