Commutative Property of Addition: 3.2 + 6.7 = 6.7 + 3.2 OR x + y = y + x The Commutative Property states that it does not matter which order you list the numbers to add them

Associative Property of Addition: (2.5 + 6) + 4 = 2.5 + (6 + 4) OR (a + b) + c = a + (b + c) The Associative Property of Addition states that if you have 3 or more numbers that are all being added together, you can add any two at a time
