1 FRITZ LTs and EQs for 20’s and 30’s Boom to Bust

2 Day 1: 2/18 1920’s- Women’s Suffrage LT1: Students will be able to explain what suffrage means. LT2: Students will be able to identify which Amendment gave women the right to vote. EQ1: What is suffrage? EQ2: What was a significant achievement by women in the 1920’s and how was it achieved?

3 Day 2 : 2/19 Prohibition- Causes LT1: Students will be able to answer questions regarding various videos on prohibition and understand why it came about. LT2: Students will assume roles and strategize a position for prohibition. EQ1: What 3 trends were leading to “normalcy” in America? EQ2: What was life like in the 1920’s? EQ2: What is prohibition? Amendment?

4 Day 3: 2/20 Prohibition- Results - Deliberation LT1: Students will assume roles and strategize a position for prohibition. LT2: Students will be able to deliberate, negotiate, and agree on the ideas of prohibition while assuming various perspectives. EQ1: What were different perspectives of prohibition? EQ2: What is the difference between debate and deliberation?

5 Day 4: 2/21 Prohibition- Gangster LT1: Students will be able to analyze documents and differentiate between the perspectives and ideas in order to sort the documents into buckets. LT2: EQ1: What was the difference between Rural and Urban ideologies in the 1920’s? (list) EQ2: Who was Al Capone and what influence did he have in Chicago?

6 Day 5: 2/24 1920’s Culture LT1: Students will be able to analyze documents in order to discover different perceptions about the economic conditions in America during the 1920’s. LT2: EQ1: What was life like in the 1920’s? EQ2: Who and how were different groups affected by the conditions of the 1920’s? Notes- Discuss/Turn in Homework*- Review last week. Test next Tuesday

7 Day 6: 2/25 1920’s Great Migration/Harlem Renaissance LT1: Students will be able to analyze readings, music and videos in order to understand the Great Migration and Harlem Renaissance LT2: EQ1: What was the Great Migration? EQ2: What was the Harlem Renaissance and who is a famous person from the era? Notes-

8 Day 7: 2/26 1920’s Causes of the Great Depression LT1: Students will be able to describe each of the causes of the Great Depression LT2: EQ1: What were the causes of the Great Depression? EQ2: Which event led to the Great Depression? Notes- Test on Tuesday- Study Guides tomorrow

9 Day 8: 2/27 Dealing with the Great Depression- Herbert Hoover vs. Franklin Delano Roosevelt LT1: Students will analyze documents and make decisions on how to deal with the Great Depression. LT2: Students will read and answer questions regarding Herbert Hoover and how he dealt with the Great Depression. EQ1: What was President Hoover’s approach to the Great Depression? EQ2: What was FDR’s approach to the Great Depression? Notes- Test on Tuesday- Study Guides Friday Download a QR Code Reader for Monday**
