1.1 MNGT & Communication Form and coordinate various bodies
CB - Collaboration Board: 1 person/Institute, + invited (CERN DG, CERN A&T Director, DOE representative, CERN liaison to Accelerator Labs, EC Officer…) SAC – Scientific Advisory Committee: 5-7 people, expert in the matter, not participants to the technical work of the project SC – Steering Committee WP leaders and deputies (6x2 for HiLumi, 12x2 for HL-LHC) PLC – Parameter & Lay-out Committee ITB – Industry and Technology Board (in common with TIARA, EuCARD2…) Set up and maintain DB of collaboration members Cleaning of the various Listings and making it accessible to participants Organize annual meetings, events, workshops Support for events at CERN; certain support also for event outside (within reason) Coordinate with US-LARP, other workshops (LHC-CC, WAMSDO, other FP7 program, conference) avoiding doubling as much as possible. 17Nov2011

1.1 MNGT & Communication Set up and maintain the project master schedule Good exemple: IR magnets (GLSabbi) 17Nov2011

FP7 HiLumi LHC Design Study
1.1 MNGT & Communication Set up the project budget and follow up actuals (EVM and all tools). Support to WP (or Project) leaders at CERN Support to Budget holders in the Institutes to constitute a consolidate Cost-to-Completion of the project (among all Collaborating Institutes). Assist PC in evaluating CORE cost for in-kind contribution Maintain the Project Structure and make it available FP7 HiLumi LHC Design Study 17Nov2011

1.1 MNGT & Communication Set up and maintain a project risk register (see next presentation) Report to EU-FP7, collaborations, CERN management Support from EU project office of CERN (Svet Stavrev, head, Kate Kahle, Catherine Brandt) Close collaboration with CERN External relation office (JPK) Close relation with TIARA and EuCARD(2): industry is a partner, not a nuisance, KTT must be always a concern in our activity. 17Nov2011

1.2. Parameters, Layout, Integration, Baseline
Parameter & Layout Committee (link to task 2.6) Link to the LHC hardware Baseline Web-based Baseline and «approved» variants Link to Detector Upgrade (also through WP on Collider-Experiment Interface) Link to LIU (LHC Injector Upgrade R. Garoby) Integration Is a function of the MNGT (Technical Coordination) Must be inside all WPs and systems Is also a separate WP: it si a task by its own 17Nov2011

1.3 Technical Coordination & Quality Assurance
Be responsible of the integration WP Definition of interface and boundaries between systems Liaison with Civil Engineering and technical services (cabling, CV, …) QA and definition of boundary condition of in-kind contribution Project QA, ECR, documentation Safety files Probably to lead also Hardware commissioning Ideal profile: a senior, expert in construction and wide knowledge of CERN environment and services 17Nov2011

1.4. Safety & Integrity Lead by Stefan Roesler
Too important to be squeezed in few slides in a 3 days meetings. We will discuss properly at the due time Meanwhile EnDepo, COL, and MAG should make sure that what they do is useful for radiological evaluation… 17Nov2011

1.5. Dissemination & Outreach

RCS Coordinator: Pierre Bonnal
The HL-LHC Resource Schedule and Risk Coordinator assists the HL-LHC Project Leader in coordinating the human and financial resources and in managing the risks. More specifically, his/her duties are: Preparing, then keeping up-to-date the project Work Breakdown Structure Preparing and maintaining the Project Master schedule Identifying and estimating the resources required to perform the project, then aligning budget requirements to funding; this work in close relation with the Department DPOs Identifying deliverables for setting-up an Earned Value Management reporting scheme Identifying and assessing the risks associated to the project; keeping up-to-date the project Risk Register. Following up the risk mitigation measures Preparing then releasing regular Progress Reports for the project. The HL-LHC Resource, Schedule and Risk Coordinator (RSR Coordinator) reports operationally to the HL-LHC Project Leader Approved by A&T Director 17Nov2011
