11 QUOTES: ‘ The Fairgreen helped me get my life back on track...It was tough in the beginning and it takes time, but now I have my own place to call home and I have started a course...Life is good’ A Service User Male aged 43 “I was homeless, I heard about Osterley. I didn’t feel good at the time. So I decided to go to there. At the beginning I found it hard, with how I felt, but the longer I was there, the better I got, as I could trust the staff to talk to. With all the help I got, I eventually got a place to live. I am now very happy and I will always keep intouch with Osterley Lodge ” A Female Service User “As I am an ex resident of the Fairgreen Hostel I was delighted to be given the opportunity to give something back to a service which helped me in the past. Being able to learn the trade of working in a kitchen under a professional chef and hopefully will put me in a better position in time to secure permanent paid work” A volunteer with Fairgreen. “I never feel like I’m working because I’m doing something I really enjoy. Helping others makes you feel good, and I know that I end up benefiting from volunteering just as much as the people I’m helping. I’ve gained so much – I’d recommend to anyone to get involved in volunteering ….just go for it!” A volunteer with Community Catering
