4 Ephesians 5: This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Be very careful, then, how you live but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. but understand what the Lord’s will is. Instead, be filled with the Spirit not as unwise   Therefore do not be foolish,   Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery.

5 What’s the problem? We weren’t aware we could be filled
We’ve gotten satisfied with less We’re accommodating sin in our heart We may not want to give up control

6 Instead, be filled with the Spirit… (Ephesians 5:18-21)
speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit.  Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,  always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

7 Be filled with the Spirit
What’s that mean? Ephesians 1:13-14 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. When you’re saved, the Holy Spirit resided in you

8 Be filled with the Spirit
Ephesians 5:18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. But be filled with the Spirit. Under control When you’re filled, the Holy Spirit presides in you

13 Who can be filled with the Spirit?
(1 Corinthians 2:3-5)  I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling.  My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power. Those who admit one’s own weaknesses Those who are humble Those who are wise Those who are submissive
