DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MALES AND FEMALES By: Sonia L. Barrett

We came from the Hand of a loving, Heavenly Father. We were uniquely designed God deliberately made male different from females Both genders reflect the image of God GOD MADE YOU SPECIAL!

All the organs of the human body are amazing. The human brain is one of the most complex and amazing organ in the human body THE HUMAN BRAIN – GOD’S MASTERPIECE

The human brain is an amazing machine, more complex than the most advanced computer. It’s amazing abilities point to God’s great creative power. Each side of the brain has specific functions. THE HUMAN BRAIN

The left and right hemispheres play an equally important role during a child’s growing stage. At times, the functions of both hemispheres overlay and complement each other as shown in this photo where information ‘crosses the bridge’ from one hemisphere to another. BC believes that equal emphasis should be given to both hemispheres. Left Brain Functions Uses logic detailed orientation facts rule words & language past & present math & science can comprehend knowing (facts) acknowledges order & pattern perception knows object name reality based forms strategies practical conservative (cautious) Right Brain Functions Uses feeling “big picture” oriented imagination rules symbols & image present & future philosophy & religion can get it! (i.e. meaning) believes (intuition) appreciates spatial perception knows object function fantasy based presents possibilities impetuous (impulsive) risk taking (gut feeling)

The structure and function of the brain is different in males and females: Females tend to use more right brain functions – this is why they are usually more emotional than males. Males tend to use more left brain functions, hence they tend to reason things out more rather than go with their feelings. THE BRAIN & GENDER DIFFERENCES

Males find it harder to express their emotions than females. Males react differently to stress than females. Males react to pain differently than females – women will talk more freely about pain and will be quicker to see a doctor. Emotional DifferencesWomen – More Emotional MALE/FEMALE DIFFERENCES

Males process information better on the left hemisphere than women. The section of the brain responsible for language is larger in females. The section of the brain responsible for mathematical ability is larger in males. Learning/Thinking Differences The Brain’s Hemisphere MALE/FEMALE DIFFERENCES

Men have more bodily hair than women. Girls begin puberty approximately two years before boys. Males have larger hearts and lungs than females. Physical Features MALE /FEMALE DIFFERENCES

Many men are sharply left-brain dominant. Men are often less socially adept, and are more task-oriented thinkers than females Women tend to be more evenly balanced between left and right-brain processing. Women are therefore thought to be slightly more intuitive, and sometimes better communicators. MalesFemales MALE/FEMALE DIFFERENCES

When faced with stressful situations, men usually employ ‘fight or flight’ tactics. The parietal region is thicker in the female brain, making it harder for them to mentally rotate objects – an important spatial skill. Women use a ‘tend or befriend’ response that is rooted in their natural instincts for caring for their children and establishing st Women often report difficulty with spatial tasks, both on tests and in real life. MalesFemales MALE/FEMALE DIFFERENCES

An average man is taller and heavier than an average woman. Men’s skin has more collagen and sebum, which makes it thicker and oilier than women’s skin. Physical DifferencesMales Vs. Females OTHER DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MALES & FEMALES

Females are more sensitive to sound than males. Females generally have greater body fat percentage than males. Males have better distance vision than females. Physical Differences Female – Better Listener MALE/FEMALE DIFFERENCES

The Bible tells us in Gen. 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him: male and female created he them.” Psalm 139: 14 “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made…” God’s DoingGod’s Plan WHY WE ARE THE WAY WE ARE

God intended that the two genders should complement each other. The male is supposed to be the “Protector and Provider” The female is intended to be the “Nurturer and Comforter” A child needs both mother and father to bring balance to the home. WHY GOD MADE MALES & FEMALES

That we know and understand that males and females are different. Male and female to copulate and produce off-springs. Gender does matter - there are specific gender roles That we be confused about our sexuality. It is O.K. for same sex marriages to take place and the couple can adopt children. Gender does not matter – there is no difference in gender roles. God’s PlanSatan’s Plan IS GENDER DIFFERENCE A BIG DEAL?

We are God’s workmanship, created in His own image. His intent is clear – He made Adam and Eve – male and female – and brought them together. The first marriage ceremony was performed by God Himself in the Garden of Eden. IS GENDER DIFFERENCE A BIG DEAL?

Because males see things differently from females it sometimes leads to misunderstanding. Gender differences is something to understand and accept rather than fight about. Celebrate Gender Differences Agree to Disagree! CONFLICTS ARISE WHEN COUPLES HAVE DIFFERENT VIEWPOINTS

God made us different – the male is wired differently from the female. We need to celebrate this difference Let us take time to study and understand the differences between males and females. Remember that with God there is neither male or female. CONCLUSION

The following Brain Teaser is intended to illustrate the difference in the way males and females process information. The class will be divided into two teams – males against females. The teacher will test to see which team has the greater difficulty matching words and colors. AN ILLUSTRATION
