1 Entrance Slip Take out a half sheet of paper and formulate an answer to #1. Don’t forget to write your name on it! Don’t forget to write your name on it! 1. Name as many food groups as you can. Hint: There are 5 food groups!

2 Food Groups Fruits – Any fruit or 100% fruit juice Vegetables – Any vegetable or 100% vegetable juice Grains – Any food made from wheat, rice, oats, cornmeal, barley, or another cereal grain

3 Food Groups Protein – Food made from meat, poultry, seafood, beans and peas, eggs and soy products Dairy – Milk products (ex. Cheeses, yogurts, ice creams, etc…) Oils – Not a food group, but provide essential nutrients (Liquid at room temp.)
