13. Health-promoting workplaces Being at work is most important. We are committed to: ensuring good working conditions reinforcing the positive factors in the working environment developing a culture that embraces good leadership, a sense of belonging and coping skills Activating our employees 13

Our programme for health-promoting measures at the workplace “Healthy factors”: Clearly defined work requirements Influence on own decisions/control of work intensity – “coping” Opportunities to learn and develop skills Fair management and recognition Social support from manager and colleagues Balance between work and personal life Healthy lifestyle Conduct regular, structured workplace surveys and, based on the evaluation, develop plans to implement health-promoting measures. Encourage employees to eat a healthy diet, get physical exercise and stop smoking. 14

15. What should we do to ensure health-promoting workplaces? Conduct working environment surveys based on theories/models like Karasek-Theorell. Bear in mind that improving the psychosocial working environment helps prevent health problems. The EHS standard defines organisational change as a psychosocial risk factor that must be considered and evaluated Employee brainstorming and engagement are important. A specific action plan is essential for good results. Measures must be followed up in the Working Environment Committee. 15
