ThinkTank Year 7 PHSE Exploring Charities and successful collaboration

ThinkTank ScenarioScenario Students need to research a charity that interests them and that they feel is worthy of support Pupils will then need to present their research on the chosen charity making a case to their form about why they should support that cause. As a form pupils to discuss and explore different fund raising ideas and agree on a couple they will organise, arrange, promote and run a charity week in the second half of the summer term.

ThinkTank Students need to research a charity that interests them and that they feel is worthy of support. Finding and selecting information - Level 1 use search techniques to locate and select relevant information Using queries effectively Finding and selecting information - Level 2 Evaluate fitness for purpose of information Research Using ICT - Level 1 Work with files and folders to access, organise, store, label and retrieve information Finding and selecting information - Level 1 Select information from a variety of ICT sources for a straightforward task

ThinkTank Pupils will then need to present their research on the chosen charity making a case to their form about why they should support that cause. Developing, presenting and communicating information Level - 2 Apply editing, formatting and layout techniques to meet needs Finding and selecting information - Level 2 Evaluate fitness for purpose of information Present information Using ICT - Level 1 Work with files and folders to access, organise, store, label and retrieve information

ThinkTank Task 1Task 1 Design and make a product that uses an ingredient/s from the local area which could be sold at a farmers’ market or in a farm shop

ThinkTank Your department Ideas Make a note On your Post-it

ThinkTank Scenario 1 - Science The NHS are concerned with the numbers of young people smoking. Local GP’s and Ledbury Hospital have asked you, as part of the ????, to research and make information available to Y10/Y11 students on the effects of smoking on their health.

ThinkTank The task Use your email to retrieve the task details and open the attached document. Use appropriate media to present your information/research. Ensure the information collected and presented is targeted at the correct year group. Save your work with a suitable file name and email back with the file attached.

ThinkTank Scenario 2 - Geography Wyvern FM are having a climate change week to raise awareness of issues surrounding this. They have tasked you, as part your work experience placement with them, to produce a 2 minute radio news broadcast to use during this climate change week.

ThinkTank The task Wyvern FM have provided you with data on temperature changes and CO 2 levels which you need to analyse and display as a suitable graph for their website and use in your broadcast. Use the internet to research causes and effects of global climate change from suitable websites. Record a two minute radio broadcast using audacity. Produce a logo for display on their website for this global climate change week, that could also be used on leaflets and large (A1) posters.

ThinkTank ICT Functional skills – Assessment example The Fitness Fun Leisure Centre has good sports facilities and offers different fitness sessions. In recent months, attendance has been poor. The Fitness Fun Leisure Centre needs more publicity. As a keen member of the junior membership committee you want to help. 1.The Fitness Fun Leisure Centre needs a new logo. This should attract people to the centre. Create a logo which: Is eye catching and publicises the centre Is suitable to use for all future marketing material such as posters, leaflets and presentation. Uses different graphical features. 2.You are going to give a presentation to a group of students of your own age to encourage them to use the facilities at the centre. a)Create three slides that have information on them about the fitness sessions run at the centre from the file FFdata. In the presentation use the logo you have created. b)Produce a handout with space for the audience notes next to each slide. Print the handout. This is Printout 1.
