1 Break bread The commands of Christ The commands of Christ mirrored in the early church Peter replied, “(2) Repent and (3) be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will (4) receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far of – for all whom the Lord our God will call.” With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. 1Following Jesus: Lesson Seven

2 They (5) devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the (6) fellowship, to the (7) breaking of bread and to (8) prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they (9) gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily (10) those who were being saved. 2Following Jesus: Lesson Seven
