The 4-M Church Reaffirming the Relational Foundation of What it Means to be the Body of Christ
3
Embracing Our Purpose As the Body of Christ Like the Message, the Mission does not need to be invented. Like the Message, the authority of the Mission rests in the One who gave it. We have a mission because it is the one Jesus gave us.
4
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. -Matthew 28:18-20

The Great Commission is not first fulfilled by groups or committees or through programs and promotions. It is first fulfilled by persons who are so in love with Jesus that they will do whatever they can to introduce other people to Him and walk with those people as they develop as faithful disciples of Jesus.
6
The Great Commission is, first and foremost, relational, not methodological.
7
Discipleship is, first and foremost, the building of healthy, God-centered, Christ-focused, Holy Spirit-inspired relationships, not a program to be fulfilled.
8
A Disciple is one who ministers (serves) in four distinctive ways: A disciple serves the Lord: by listening with gladness/praise (worship) through yieldedness The Nature of Discipleship
9
A disciple serves the Word: devotion to the Bible and prayer experiencing—living—the Word Obeying the Word in daily life A disciple serves others in love: we love with compassion we love with grace we love without thought of return we love without human distinctions we care about and for all
10
A disciple serves the message of reconciliation: we serve those outside the Kingdom we introduce others to the Savior we share the love of Jesus Christ whenever and wherever possible
11
This “Great Commission”, and the “Great Commandments”, together supersede all other identities and tasks and inform everything the church—the Body of Christ—is called to be and do.
12
Fulfilling Our Commission... -Fall Deeply In Love With Jesus -Share Your Story -Commit to A Life of Growth and Maturity -Seek to Live in the Spirit and Attitude of Christ -Introduce Others to Jesus -Grow together with others into the Fullness of Christ
