2 Using Peachtree with Microsoft Office If you have Microsoft Office 2000 or higher, you can use Peachtree Complete Accounting 2009 data in numerous ways. For example, you can add data to an Excel spreadsheet. Or, you can add Peachtree financial statements to a Word document. Chapter 17 describes several procedures for adding Peachtree data to Microsoft Office 2000 (or higher) applications. 17-2

5 Peachtree Tips Use Bellwether Garden Supply (the sample company) to complete the activities in Chapter 17. You may use Bellwether’s starting data or restore the Exercise 6-2.ptb backup file. If necessary, see the Restoring Starting Data section in Appendix A, page 750. Files can be saved in Microsoft Office 97-2003 or MS Office 2007; for example, Word 97-2003 (.doc files) and Word 2007 (.docx); Excel 97-2003 (.xls) or Excel 2007 (.xlsx). 17-5

8 Getting started, p. 681 Start Peachtree in the usual way. Open Bellwether Garden Supply. Comment If you no longer have the Exercise 6-2 back up file, use starting data for Bellwether Garden Supply. Refer to Chapter 1, pages 28-31, Using Peachtree’s Restore Wizard, to restore Bellwether’s starting data. Microsoft Office 2007 and Windows Vista are used for the illustrations in this chapter. If you are using another version of MS Office, you may notice some differences with the illustrations shown in Chapter 17.17-8
